The Andromeda is a wide beam barge of 52ft x 10ft. And is offered ready to fit out to your own design. Reluctantly we have decided to sell due to health issues and the inability to do the work.

This is a blank canvas now to fit out the interior and end up with a fabulous liveaboard. An estimate that a further investment of 5k to 8k is needed to give you a great return on the investment. ( less if you do the work ) We have had estimated valuations of 70k and upwards when finished depending on where it is moored.

The layout of the boat would make a delightful live aboard when finished. The back deck ( 8ft x 10ft ) and steering position lead to a doorway to the main accommodation and an unusual centre staircase leading to the top deck. Provision has been made by way of a fabricated framework to install a decking area of approximately 250 sq. feet. Additionally, there is an entry either side, with wide ( 3ft ) gangplanks that drop down and give excellent access, originally built for disabled access we think this is the reason for generous sizes on stairs and walkways.

The doorway to the interior leads to a vast open space of just over 400sq ft. Well-lit with an unusual window configuration surrounding the front of the boat. The interior has been stripped, rust treated and sprayed in red oxide. 2 new plastic storage tanks have been installed and are ready to plumb in. 1 x 400lts for grey water and 1 x 400ltrs for black waste. New pine flooring and supports have been laid with the installation of the tanks.

Andromeda was built in 1980 and for the last 15 years was left neglected. She has been out of the water in June 2016 for 3 months and the hull has been cleaned and blacked with 3 coats of International black, the best on the market. 4 new anodes have been fitted and some plating welded as needed where the old soil tanks were removed. The dirty hard work has been done and she is now ready for a fit out.

– Engine is a Perkins 4 cylinder and has been serviced, runs perfectly
– 1600ltrs freshwater tanks ( 2 x 800ltrs )
– 1000ltr Diesel tank 600ltrs ( contains appx 400ltrs fuel )
– 400ltrs Grey water tank
– 400ltrs Black water tank
– 2 new 100amph 12v batteries
– Life ring + 2 basic life jackets
– Table & 2 chairs on back deck
– Portable toilet
– 600w Inverter

The outside has had an undercoat and 2 top coats of white and blue all in 2 pack epoxy. There are some small areas that have been filled to remove some blemishes and will need finishing.

The Andromeda would make an ideal liveaboard and is now ready to install electrics, plumbing and finish the interior, it would not cost a fortune to finish.

The sale includes
150m of arctic cable for 240v and 12v, 240v consumer unit with RCD, cable trunking and fittings, double 13amp sockets, 5amp sockets and fittings ( for 12v ) 2 full large gas cylinders, 2 extra bilge pumps and pipe. over £500 worth of 2 pack epoxy paint including Blue, White and undercoat. Almost complete 50m roll of double-sided aluminium insulation and lots not listed

For comfort when working on the boat there is single ring camping gas cooker and an assortment of utensils.

Andromeda has a new pot-bellied stove installed ( plenty of fuel, wood and coal ) ready to fit integrated fridge, not new but works perfectly, new microwave and a comfortable bed settee.

The back deck holds the steering position and has access to the engine compartment, the steering is hydraulic and there is a 12v bilge pump and also a hand pump. There is a brand new Wavestream Bilge Water Filter Fitted ( best on the market at £200 ) and fully compliant with the safety certificate when ready. There are 2 gas lockers with seating in between on the back deck.

Andromeda is on a full residential mooring at Port Werburgh at £284 a month. The mooring can be transferable on negotiating with the marina and has electricity ( payment card ) and water, and you can work on the boat under the marina’s conditions.

It can also be moved onto the canals and is ideal for a continuous touring houseboat, more and more people are looking to do this.

At the moment this seems to be the most popular size and type of boat, don’t miss this opportunity to get your dream live aboard.

Sadly for sale due to ill health.
